Since 2000 Vulcanite and Bombardier have entered into
a ‘Manufacturing Agreement’, to supply many
primary and secondary suspension components, which also
including the supply of many resilient components such
as Chevron Springs to a fleet of Electric Freight Locomotives
for Queensland Rails Freight and mainline operations.
We have also been awarded an OEM contract from Bombardier
to supply resilient components to the new Perth Urban
rail development. These components include centre pivot
bushings, traction rod bushes, and torsion bearings

Queensland
Rail
Our partnership with Queensland Rail is many years
old and we have been supplying a number of resilient
components over this period of time including a range
of Chevron Springs for their EMU (Electric Multiple
Unit) suburban fleet. They have embarked on a mid life
bogie overhaul project which started in 2002 in which
Vulcanite is supplying all their resilient component
requirements. |

Singapore
MRT
Vulcanite has been awarded the contract to supply secondary
suspension layer springs for the full Singapore suburban
fleet of EMU vehicles as part of their mid life bogie
overhaul program. Vulcanite prepared a detailed engineering
action plan that included for accelerated aged testing,
finite element analysis (FEA) etc. to ensure that the
component met the expected 15 year life cycle requirement
from SMRT. |

MainTrain
Maintrain is the maintenance provider for the State
Rail Authority of New South Wales suburban and interurban
fleet of rail vehicles.
Vulcanite and Maintrain have developed a supply partnership,
which is also many years old and includes the supply
of many components including intercar gangway bellows,
primary suspension springs and traction rod components. |

Alstom
Transport
Apart from supplying intercar gangway bellows for the
new X’Trapolis suburban train which will enter
service in Melbourne, Victoria this year, and other
resilient components including wheel isolator blocks
and gearbox rubbers for light rail system, we have developed
a refurbishment program to replace all roll fedder primary
suspension springs in the Melbourne suburban fleet as
part of the mid life bogie overhaul program. This program
is expected to last approx 5 years. |

Kowloon
Canton Railway Corporation Hong Kong
Vulcanite were awarded the major contract to supply
Platform Gap Fillers to the Kowloon Canton Railway Corporation's
(KCRC) east rail network. This opportunity was given
to Vulcanite after exhaustive design development and
trials of our product.

Corporation Hong Kong
Vulcanite are currently in trials to supply Platform
Gap Fillers for the MTR rail network in Hong Kong. We
were commissioned to design and develop and manufacture
a suitable product for their system. Trials to date
have been very succesfull and we look forward to continuing
our partnership with MTR Corporation

Vulcanite has developed a relationship with HTT over
many years for the supply of primary suspension chevron
springs for their track maintenance vehicles both new
and refurbished units. This relationship includes supplying
product for the Australian and American market. We are
also involved in the design, development and improvement

Over the last two years Calgary Transit and Vulcanite
